What are you passionate about outside of your field of study?

As a new student, I have a great interest in many activities beyond my field of study. I am convinced that being a well-rounded individual is crucial for personal and professional development. Engaging in my hobbies and interests outside of my field of study helps me remain inspired, focused, and rejuvenated. It also allows me to acquire transferable skills that can be applied in any job or industry.

One of my hobbies outside of my field of study is writing. I have always enjoyed expressing my thoughts and ideas through written words. During my free time, I write short stories, articles, and poetry. Writing serves as a form of therapy for me, allowing me to process my emotions and thoughts while being creative and imaginative.

Recently, I participated in a writing competition and won first prize. The competition's theme was "A Day in the Life of a Frontline Worker During the Pandemic." I interviewed a nurse who worked in a COVID-19 ward and wrote a moving story about her struggles and obstacles. My story was published in a local newspaper, and I received several compliments for my writing skills.

Another interest of mine is photography. I love capturing the beauty of nature and the world around me through my camera lens. Photography provides me with a new perspective on the world, allowing me to appreciate life's small moments. I have participated in several photography competitions and won a few awards. My photographs have also been showcased in local art galleries and exhibitions.

Last year, I volunteered to take photos at a local animal shelter. My images captured the playful and affectionate moments of the dogs and cats, and the shelter used them to promote adoptions. The experience was gratifying, and I felt a sense of fulfillment knowing that my photography helped these animals find loving homes.

In addition to writing and photography, I am also passionate about sports. I am an enthusiastic basketball player, and I play for my college team. Playing sports keeps me healthy, fit, and focused, while also teaching me important life skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. Last year, my college basketball team won the intercollegiate tournament, and I served as the team captain. It was a proud moment for me, and it taught me that hard work and dedication can lead to success.

In conclusion, my interests outside of my field of study have allowed me to develop skills such as creativity, communication, leadership, and teamwork. Engaging in my hobbies and passions has also provided me with a sense of fulfillment and accomplishment. I believe that having a well-rounded personality is critical for personal and professional growth, and I will continue to pursue my passions and interests throughout my life.
